Privacy Policy

This site is run by Elle B. Connor. It's a personal author website. This page explains what information it collects, who else sees it, and how to have it removed.

The short version: the only thing I deliberately collect is your email address, and only if you choose to give it to me by subscribing to the newsletter.

What I collect

I don't run analytics, I don't set advertising cookies, and I don't build profiles of visitors.

Who else receives it

This site uses a small number of outside services. Each one has its own privacy policy, and I'd encourage you to read theirs if you're concerned.

• beehiiv — runs the newsletter. The signup form on the contact section is loaded from their servers, so they receive your IP address when you open the page, whether or not you sign up. If you do subscribe, your email address is stored with them, and they record standard email engagement such as opens and clicks.
• Netlify — hosts the site and generates the server logs described above.
• Google — the site shows a thumbnail of my latest YouTube video, and your browser loads that image from Google's servers, so Google receives your IP address. Fonts are served from this site rather than from Google Fonts, so nothing leaves your browser for them.
• Behold — supplies the latest Instagram post shown on the site. Your browser loads that image from their servers, so they receive your IP address.

I don't sell your information, and I don't share it with anyone beyond the services above.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. The third-party services listed above may set their own when your browser contacts them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will work normally without them.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask me to:

• tell you what information I hold about you
• correct it if it's wrong
• delete it
• stop using it

If you're in the UK, EU, or a US state with its own privacy law, these rights are backed by legislation and I'll honour them regardless.

The fastest route for most things: every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it removes you immediately and I don't need to be involved. For anything else, email me at the address below and I'll respond within 30 days.

How long I keep things

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short period by the hosting service and then discarded automatically.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has subscribed, email me and I'll remove the record.

Changes

If this policy changes I'll update the date at the top. Material changes affecting newsletter subscribers will be mentioned in the newsletter.
